KOORDDANSERS – FUNAMBULES
is een uitgave waarin Rolands werk de inspiratie was voor dichters. Een intense ontmoeting van woord en beeld, verkrijgbaar in de betere boekhandel, bij de uitgeverij of in het Prentenkabinet.
Het kost 34.50€.
Er bestaat een luxe-editie van op 30 exemplaren, met daarin een originele kopergravure. Die editie kost 195€ (bij de uitgever 245€).
Roland De Winter is een volbloed graficus die een uitgebreide technische kunde koppelt aan een buitengewone verbeeldingskracht. Zijn oud-docent Harold Van De Perre noemt zijn werk ‘verbijsterend veelzijdig’ en hetzelfde kan zeker ook gezegd worden van de zeventien dichters van beide kanten van de taalgrens die zich voor deze ‘KOORDDANSERS’ lieten inspireren door zijn werk. Ze kozen elk twee prenten uit zijn omvangrijk oeuvre en gebruikten hun persoonlijke fantasie en woordkunst om weer te geven hoe ze dit rijke universum ervaren hebben. Het resultaat is een gevarieerd feestmaal voor oren en ogen, waaraan iedere lezer en kijker van harte mag deelnemen.
Roland De Winter est un graphiste corps et âme, qui allie expertise technique magistrale à une extraordinaire puissance imaginative. Son ancien professeur Harold Van De Perre qualifiait son travail d’« incroyablement polymorphe » et cela sans aucun doute s’applique au travail des dix-sept poètes venus des deux côtés de la frontière linguistique qui, pour ces « FUNAMBULES », se sont laissé inspirer par son œuvre. Chacun d’eux a choisi deux estampes et utilisé leur fantaisie et maîtrise stylistique pour évoquer chacun avec leur propre vécu leur intrusion dans ce vaste univers. Le résultat est un festin chatoyant pour les yeux et les oreilles, auquel chaque lecteur, chaque spectateur est heureusement invité à prendre part.

On the 19th, 20th and 21st of October, “Buren bij Kunstenaars” (Neighbours at Artists) is back.
Roland’s studio is open, each time from 2 pm to 6 pm.

exposition in Chalmessin
From September 22 to October 1, Roland’s work is featured in ‘Arts des Tilles’ (Chalmessin, Haute Marne, France), a group exhibition about the theme ‘Chimères’ (fantasy creatures, brain wraiths).

Roland shows new pen and pencil drawings and etching.
Erna offers her new novel Blauw is voor een meisje (publisher Het punt, 2017).

Maskerade
Participation in group exhibition “The mask in the fantastic art” from February 4 to 25 at the Stedelijk Museum Aalst.
‘Masquerade’ is an art book featuring work by 46 contemporary artists on the occasion of this fascinating exhibition will see the light. Opening on 4 February from 16.30 in the Gasthuys (Stedelijk Museum, Oude Vismarkt 13 Aalst).

Van 17 oktober tot 23 november 2014 organiseert de dienst Cultuur van de stad Oostende de expo Oostends Paviljoen 2014 in de Venetiaanse Gaanderijen.
Uit de 165 inschrijvingen maakte de internationale jury, onder leiding van Johan Westenburg, een selectie. Een tentoonstelling die de diversiteit van de kunstgemeenschap in Oostende in de kijker zet.

From October 17 to November 23, 2014, the department of culture of the city of Ostend organizes the expo Oostends Paviljoen 2014 in the Venetian Galleries.
The international jury, led by Johan West Burg, made a selection out of the 165 entries. An exhibition that puts the diversity of the arts community in Ostend in the spotlight.

Op vrijdag, zaterdag en zondag 17, 18 en 19 oktober, telkens van 14 tot 18u ontvangen wij u graag in Rolands atelier. (klik hier voor contactgegevens)

- Gedichten van Erwin Steyaert . We zijn heel blij met zijn ‘Sotternijen’, een reeks gedichten die hij maakte bij Rolands ‘oer-werk ’Het Boek der Gekken’. Op zaterdag én op zondag om 15u en om 16u30 zal hij uit zijn werk voorlezen, muzikaal ondersteund door Roland en door Joe Mullen, onze Ierse buurman. Een speciale editie in beperkte oplage van tien gedichten en tien tekeningen zal te koop aangeboden worden tegen € 95. Deze losbladige (lees niet: losbandige 😉 )map werd technisch gerealiseerd door het gloednieuwe grafisch atelier Inktopus

- Poems by Erwin Steyaert. We are very happy with his ‘Sotternijen “, a series of poems he made with Rolands’ ‘primal work ‘ ‘The Book of Fools‘. On Saturday and on Sunday at 15h and at 16:30h, he will read from his work, supported musically by Roland and Joe Mullen, our Irish neighbor. A special limited edition of ten poems and ten facsimile drawings will be offered for sale at € 95.
This loose-leaf folder was technically realized by the brand new graphic studio Inktopus. - Warmly welcome!
